University of Hebron UHB is a premier private university that was established in July 2019 by a team of academic experts in Malawi. The University opened its doors in January 2020 with two Schools: (1) School of Business Innovation and (2) of Sustainable Development. Today the the University of Hebron has five (5) schools/faculties; The School of Diplomacy and International Relations, School of Theology and the School of Education. The university offers both undergraduate, postgraduate prgrammes, short courses and training from these various schools. University of Hebron (UHB) was established with an intention of bridging the skills and knowledge gaps existing in university graduates ushered into the work industry by different institutions of higher learning in Malawi and also usher in a cadre of graduates who are creative and innovative for transformation. At the helm of its training goals is the intention to develop highly skilled and talented professionals who are geared towards turning the 21st century challenges into opportunities. By combining their skills with cutting edge technology to create wealth. The University of Hebron’s programmes are developed from comprehensive, thorough and extensive research on: factors contributing to increased numbers on incompetent graduates entering the workforce in Malawi; backward and non-industry sensitive training curricula, methods, tools and approaches of different universities; and finally the key skills required in different professions in the job industry.
Accreditation and Affiliations
We are pleased to inform you that, the University of Hebron (UHB) is recognized and accredited by the National Council for Higher Education (NCHE). The University of Hebron is also accredited by the Malawi Accountancy Board (MAB). The University of Hebron is affiliated to the Open University of Tanzania, which is one of the famous and reputable university in Easten African, in Africa and beyond.

Modes of Delivery
Face to Face
The University of Hebron offers face to face learning mode which is a generic learning approach. With this learning mode students come to class and meet and interface the lecturers.
- Full-time classes - Monday - Friday from 8:30 - 4:00
- Evening classes - Monday - Wednesday from 5:30 - 8:30
- Weekend classes - Saturday - Sunday from 8:30 - 5:00
Online Distant E-Learning (ODeL)
The University of Hebron (UHB) also does Online Distant E-Learning (ODeL).
Where students from both Malawi and International students can learning online without being affected by the distance. University of Hebron has heavily invested in the ICT infrastructure
to aid and facilitate online classes and ensuring that students learn with ease and that quality is also maintained and usher a great learning experience.
Block Release/Once a Month
This is a convenient approach to learning where students only come to class once a month for three (3) consecutive days (Friday to Sunday). Students from far and with busy work schedules are suitable candidates for ths learning approach as it gives them only one whole weekend of intensive learning and interfacing with our qualified professors, instructors and lecturers for the whole weekend. Students then get turtorials, assignments, research topics and course-materials to work-on for presentation during the month for the next class. Our professors are available for through their hot-lines to help students where need be.
Certificate & Diploma
Programmes
The University of Hebron (UHB) offers Certificate and Diploma certifications for all the programmes that are offered by the university.
Hence allowing students to exist at any point. Students need to complete One (1) full calendar year to obtain a certificate and
Two (2) calendar years to graduate with a Diploma.
Entry Requirements
- Malawi School Certificate of Education with Six (6) Credits or its equivalent
- Complete an application form
- Submit to admissions@uhb.ac.mw along with application fee: K10,000 kwacha proof of payment.
Undergraduate Degree
Programmes
The University of Hebron's undergraduate degree programme has two (2) main entry points as follows:
Normal EntryThis is a four (4) years bachelors degree programme. and
Mature EntryThis is a two years bachelors degree completion programmes.
Entry Requirements
- Malawi School Certificate of Education with Six (6) Credits or its equivalent if you are applying for Normal Entry
- Two (2) years Diploma/Advance Diploma if you are applying for Mature Entry
- Complete an application form
- Submit to admissions@uhb.ac.mw along with application fee: K10,000 kwacha proof of payment.
Postgraduate Degree
Programmes
The univesity of Hebron provides Masters degree and Doctorate degree programmes from the postgraduate school.
Masters Degree ProgrammeThis is a two (2) years masters degree programme.
Doctorate Degree ProgrammeThis is a two years course work and research doctorate degree programme.
Entry Requirements
- Applicants must have a first degree to apply for aMasters degree programme
- Applicants must have a masters degree to apply for aDoctorate degree programme
